Mariner’s Song Guitar Tabs

Mariner’s Song
Michael Timmins

[G] The last of man’s great unchained beasts lies lapping at my door
[C] The last of man’s great unchained beasts lies lapping at my door
[D] I would be happy to give it what it wants, [C] but I do know,
it would [G] just ask for more.

Refrain:
[C] I search for you with every [D] crest I ride [G] in every trough I [C] travel through
[Am] I search for you in every [D] trough I travel [G] through.

[G] I didn’t mean to leave you, [C] I unfurled my sail and the [G] wind did blow
[G] I didn’t mean to leave you, darling, [C] I unfurled my sail and the [D] wind did blow
[C] Why why why why why, oh why [D] I did not drop my anchor,
Oh [G] Lord, I will never know.

Repeat Refrain

G] On the lee of the island I hear your voice [C] deep inside the calm
[G] On the lee of the island I hear your voice [C] deep inside the calm
[D] Whispering baby, I’ll be your delight, if you [C] promise to be my red [G] sky tonight.

Repeat Refrain

[G] In the storm you are my destination in the port you are my storm
[C] In the storm you are my destination in the port you are my storm
[D] But I would weather you my love, if you
[C] would be my guide, if you would be my stars in the [G] skies above.

Repeat Refrain [G] [C] [D] [G]

Repeat Refrain [C] [G]

There are some places where I’ve indicated a G, C or D chord, but where you can alternate with a sus2 or a sus4. And there are places where I’ve indicated a C, that you might want to alternate with an Am or an Am7. Play around with it and have some fun. If you spot anything that looks/sounds wrong, please let me know. Chords by Catherine McKay cjcate@yahoo.ca
